Vinita is a Director in Power Centre Pvt. Ltd and its sister concern Power Centre Services Private Limited, both family-run businesses. While the former is a leading Microsoft Partner and IT solutions provider for corporates and institutions, the latter is involved in the sale and service of diesel generators.
Although Power Centre was started in 1972, it then had a factory and working norms, rules and conditions were very different. When the IT division started in 1992, it began with a small team. As the organisation grew, the need for HR and Marketing support was needed.
Vinita’s expertise in Marketing made her the perfect choice and she created, curated the digital transformation of the company and also conceptualised many unique marketing initiatives. The creation of a Copilot Centre of Excellence, the 360-degree approach to many partner-led efforts as well as many inhouse initiatives to mobilise marketing efforts such as the Power Centre Premier Leage were greatly appreciated.
Vinita also took great efforts to study HR practices and policies to streamline the organisations efforts. A HR policy was created with many path breaking ideas such as a non-discrimination, non-disclosure clause for HIV. She also took efforts to create an environment of equality and diversity, across religion, gender and even neuro diversity. Vinita’s HR efforts led to Power Centre receiving the prestigious Gabriella Schuster award for Diversity and Inclusion.
Vinita also spearheads the organisation’s CSR efforts by not merely providing infrastructure and financial support to a few selected NGOs, but also encouraging the employees to contribute their expertise as required.
